The Patrons of Cystic Fibrosis are pleased to present this year's Breath of Life Award to Dr. Bruce Montgomery of Gilead Sciences for his continued dedication to the advancement of cystic fibrosis research and fundraising in the Northwest.

"In 18 years of CF research, I have led teams that have developed three new CF medications. These drugs and other advances in CF care have extended life expectancy by over a decade. Progress, but our job is not finished. My current team, at Gilead Sciences, has promising late stage and early stage CF therapies but we can not succeed without the help of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Their leadership, creating infrastructure and standards of care, enabled testing of these advances and will certainly lead to more progress in the future. Please join our goal of giving the 'Breath of Life' to each and every CF patient for their lifetime."
